Bayview Vista

This 194-unit senior apartment community was developed to serve independent seniors in the Bay Area. The community consists of a single three-story building with interior corridors, which helped maximize design, construction and operational efficiencies. In addition, many features were incorporated as part of the project design to promote social interaction and resident wellness.

The central recreation facility is the primary focus of the community, and includes a large multi-purpose room with full-service kitchen; large-screen TV; fireplace; computer center and library; bingo area; pool and spa; and barbeque and picnic area. In addition, public areas feature professional landscaping, scenic walkways, gated access and excellent night lighting. An extensive program of educational, recreational and health/wellness programming and activities is offered on a regular basis, including classes, workshops and lectures on a variety of senior-related topics. The objective of the program is to promote healthy lifestyles and self-care for residents, as well as social interaction.

Individual units are ADA-adaptable, and offer central heating and air conditioning; patios or balconies; built-in kitchen appliances; 24-hour monitored emergency call system; bathroom grab-bars; built-in kitchen appliances; plush carpeting and non-skid vinyl flooring; mini-blinds; and walk-in closets. Community amenities also include elevators and laundry rooms; and Braille project signage for the visually-impaired. Finally, each floor features a different color scheme to assist residents in distinguishing one floor from another, locating their unit and navigating their way around the complex.
